Research on Early Childhood Educational Environment

The research on early childhood educational environment is being conducted in the framework of the International Comparative Study together with the University of Jyväskylä (Finland) and the University of Gothenburg (Sweden). The project aims to reveal differences in psychological characteristics of children on the basis of international comparative examination of the contemporary early childhood educational environment (Russia, Finland and Sweden) and improve the early childhood education quality. Special modern types of educational environment with various opportunities have been empirically singled out. Tendencies for the congruence of educational environment quality parameters (applying the ECERS scale) and subjective and personal attributes of children, as well as considerable differences in personal attributes of preschool children in different types of educational environment were identified. The first stage results were presented at the 28th European Early Childhood Education Research Association Conference 2018 and the British Education Research Association Conference 2018. The results of research on the quality of bilingual early childhood educational environment and a bilingual education assessment model will be presented at the European Early Childhood Education Research Association annual forum dedicated to psychology and childhood pedagogy.
