Professor of University of Miami, Dina Birman is going to take part in the “Multicultural training of a teacher” program within the StrAU project “Teacher of the 21st century”, conducted by the Institute of psychology and education. “I am very interested in that subject matter which is now being developed by the scientists of the Institute of psychology and education. The problem of migrants and their adaptation is one of the most important ones, except for, probably, terrorism and world economy crisis. Besides various social problems of adaptation to a new country, there are also psychological problems associated with it. All these factors give rise to difficulties in the relationships between host country and migrants”. Scientists of the Institute of psychology and education have already showed Prof. Birman some of their project on that subject. These are the study of ethnic and confessional patterns at secondary school teachers in Tatarstan and the study on the development of psychological and pedagogical methods of their adjustment and transformation. Dina Birman`s work has just started, and it`s her first experience of research work with KFU scientists.
