2018 Regional ISATT Conference to Take Place at Kazan University

Kazanites visited the 2017 conference of the International Study Association on Teaching and Teachers in Salamanca, Spain.

ISATT was founded in 1983 and is one of the most representative and authoritative international bodies in teacher education. This 18th conference was held at the University of Salamanca, one of the oldest in the world. The University is known for its focus on educational research, among other disciplines. The conference was attended by over 400 contributors from 52 countries.

KFU employees, Director of the Institute of Psychology and Education Aydar Kalimullin and Deputy Director Roza Valeeva, were the only participants from Russia. They presented KFU’s experience in the modernization of teacher education. These were the takeaways from a joint work by KFU, University of GlasgowUniversity of Minho, and a number of other partners from USA, Israel, India, Australia, and Malaysia within the SAU Teacher 21 framework.

As a result, ISATT President Maria Flores suggested holding a regional ISATT conference in Kazan simultaneously with the 4th International Forum on Teacher Education in 2018. This is another of recognition of KFU’s efforts in venturing into new ways of educating teachers.
