Distance Learning Platform e-Teacher Education creates distance learning environment and facilitates education process between teachers and learners. Stakeholders interact through computer networks with the use of modern technological advances.
This platform is a rapidly developing and multifunctional system which comprises: excellence centers in education and pedagogical, didactic and methodological technologies. All types of informational resources, such as e-libraries, databases, educational materials are available for learners.
Distance Learning Platform fulfils a number of functions. Firstly, it ensures that students are provided with the necessary information. Then, it is important to highlight communicative function which means that training is conducted in the form of communication. The third function deals with educational supervision.
This project involves creating retraining programs through the means of iTunes University. e-Teacher education aims to attract university graduates who do not have any pedagogical training but who are interested in working in schools. Graduates are asked to submit their transcripts for evaluation and then an individual educational path is designed for them. Depending on their degree they take different online courses. All in all, this project aims to prepare teachers in the following subjects: physics, mathematics, chemistry, school counseling, etc. At the final stage students will be expected to take a number of final face-to- face exams. 150 online courses are expected to be completed in the course of this project.
