Professor of Oxford University: KFU demonstrates valuable development of teacher education in Russia

Prof. Ian Menter gave several public lectures for teachers of large Russian universities in the framework of ongoing advanced training courses for Russian teachers. Nevertheless, the main purpose of his visit is his participation in the project “Teacher of the 21st century”, which is conducted by the Institute of psychology and education KFU. Ian Menter is one of research supervisors of that project. Prof. Menter showed interest in development of the projects on creation of new teacher training model in collaboration with universities of Ireland, Germany and Scotland. Prof. Menter believes that it’s necessary to make teacher training and retraining research-oriented, so the training should be based on real, relevant research. It should be noted that Prof. Menter only begins his work on the project “Teacher of the 21st century”. He is planning to make regular visits to KFU and jointly with his colleagues from the Institute of psychology and education audit the StrAU and give some recommendations on further work.
