Academic programs

Training teachers in the Kazan Imperial University, which was the historic successor to the Federal University, begins in 1812 and is associated with opening in its structure of the Pedagogical Institute. It became the third educational institution of a similar profile in Russia and had a significant impact on educational and cultural development of the East of a country. The first Director of Pedagogical Institute was a German teacher and a poet Franz Ksaveri Bronner, and among the first graduates were the outstanding scientists N.I.Lobachevsky, I. M. Simonov, etc.

We train professionals in the field of psychology and education, who are mature and possess a high level of civil and social responsibility, able to adapt effectively to a constantly changing society and balance individual, group, corporate, and public interests.   .

Teaching is a multifaceted process covering all activity areas of the StrAU, its staff and support personnel: both educational (lectures, seminars, practical and lab work) and extracurricular ones..

Kazan Federal University and its partners for the implementation of educational programmes provide facilities, scientific and methodological support, access to information resource system of educational institution, some faculty and students to develop and implement double degree programmes. They reconcile teaching and learning workloads of educational modules and the number of exchange students from partner universities. Besides, students are provided with opportunities to adapt through the international summer school system. KFU and the partner institutions have jointly developed organizational and legal conditions for students to collaborate in online projects and participate in academic mobility.

Graduates from the StrAU units normally find jobs in the field of education, science, manufacturing, and finance; also, they may work for diplomatic missions, state and municipal authorities, etc. Career development depends on the industry in which a graduate is employed. In five years in educational institutions, the majority of graduates are assessed with first or second qualification category. Graduates working in research centres, institutes and universities, defend their doctoral thesis. University graduates who work in industrial or financial enterprises, diplomatic missions, and state and municipal authorities in three to five years often take positions of leading experts and heads of departments.
